Centered amidst the northern beauty of the Adirondack region, Lake Placid is a solid choice as host for the Ironman Lake Placid Triathlon. The Lake Placid course presents challenging sections on both the bike and run courses that gave last year's nearly 2,500 competitors a workout to remember. The course is nothing short of spectacular. The swim takes place in the pristine Mirror Lake. The challenging bike course winds through the Adirondack Mountains, and is both scenic and tough -what more could a triathlete want? The run is no picnic, either, and offers up some more great scenery, along with some more challenging hills. Put it all together and you have the essence of Ironman...a race that captures both the beauty and the challenges of the area, and the sport.
This year EST will be offering a unique ground package to Ironman Lake Placid. We have put together, what we feel, is the best opportunity for you to compete at Ironman Lake Plaicd at an affordable price!
EST's Ground Package to Ironman Lake Placid includes:
Race Entry Accommodation at the High Peaks Resort or Comfort Inn on the Lake Exclusive EST Bike Mechanic Services EST Welcome Packet CO2 Cartridges for Race Day Breakfast Buffet (Available at Comfort Inn on the Lake only!) Massage Therapist (Optional - Available Upon Reservation - $50 per hour)
Extra service available - Complete bike unpack and assemble $50
Included in the package is the services of a mechanic but we ask that you unpack your bike and loosely assemble which means putting the wheels on, hand tighten the pedals, and bars. The mechanic will then tighten everything and make all needed adjustments to the gears and brakes. If you prefer to just hand your bike case to the mechanic he will unpack and completely assemble your bike for $50. If after the race you want the mechanic to disassemble and pack your bike this can also be done for a $50 charge
The race entry slots are being offered as part of the ground package and will not be sold seperatley.

Overlooking Mirror Lake's sparkling shores and anchoring Historic Main Street - the shopping, dining and entertainment hub of Lake Placid is a uniquely Adirondack retreat waiting for you. Magnificent views with direct access to over six million acres of natural splendor and recreations of the world famous Adirondack's High Peaks region are just the start of your uniquely fun and memorable stay during Ironman week. The high Peaks Resort has a Main Building and a Lake View Building in which we have secured rooms. Both of these buildings rooms offer the same amenities, however the rooms in the Main Building have been remodeled and support the resorts new decor with Molten Brown products where as the Lakeview building has the Bath and Body works products! Both buildings rooms are magnificient and again the only difference is the Main Building has been remodeled with a new decor. Both the Main Building and the Lake View Building have either rooms with a king bed, a double bed or rooms with 2 double beds.

Guests of this 100 percent non-smoking hotel are invited to relax in the indoor heated pool and hot tub. All spacious guest rooms include refrigerators, microwaves, irons, ironing boards, hair dryers, coffee makers and cable television with HBO and ESPN.

We will not be offering ground transportation so please feel free to go online and arrange a flight that is best for you with regards to dates, flight itinerary and price. There are a few options for people that fly into the area. You may want to fly into Boston, a New York City area airport, Montreal, or into a smaller airport like Albany, NY.

As most of our clients drive into Lake Placid we are not offering our airport transfers or daily transportation as we typically would. If you are renting a car and would like for us to provide you with options please email or call the office.
We are happy to provide anyone looking for a rental car with a discount code. This will help you in your rental and should be able to save you some money! Endurance Sports Travel has teamed up with Budget and Avis Rental Companies to provide you with a discount for any auto rental. There are many great day trips for athletes and their families that can be done locally such as visiting some of the Olympic venues, local golf courses or many great local hiking trails or boating or fishing on one of the many lakes in the area. While we do not have any prearranged day trips in or around Lake Placid, we have a number of suggestions that we would be happy to share with you. If you need any help with your preparation and planning we are glad to assist in any way we can.
