Ironman Switzerland which will take place on July 25, 2010 in the beautiful and historic city of Zurich. Zurich is one of the world's most intriguing cities and a must see city for anyone heading to Europe for vacation. Zurich is rich in culture and history, with beautiful architecture, riverside cafes and shops. It is also one of the world's major financial centers.
Endurance Sports Travel is offering complete ground packages to Ironman Switzerland. We have decided to let our clients choose their own flights into Zurich so that they can have the flexibility of deciding which airline and schedule best suits their needs. You are not committed to any specific arrival or departure date. Once you hit the ground in Zurich all the needs and wants of both the athlete and their traveling companions will be taken care of by the Endurance Sports Travel team. The ground package for Ironman Switzerland includes:

Extra service available - Complete bike unpack and assemble $50
Included in the package is the services of a mechanic but we ask that you unpack your bike and loosely assemble which means putting the wheels on, hand tighten the pedals, and bars. The mechanic will then tighten everything and make all needed adjustments to the gears and brakes. If you prefer to just hand your bike case to the mechanic he will unpack and completely assemble your bike for $50. If after the race you want the mechanic to disassemble and pack your bike this can also be done for a $50 charge

The Crowne Plaza Hotel is a 4-Star hotel located 3k from the old city of Zurich and 3.5k from the start finish area of Ironman Switzerland. The hotel plays host every year to hundreds of the worlds best track and field athletes while they visit Zurich for one of the most important track meets of the European racing season. They know how to treat athletes and the hotel has all the amenities needed to relax, workout or conduct business.The hotel was renovated in 2008 and has 364 Guest rooms of which 271 are designated Non-smoking.

In the past we have been able to take two of the tours when we visited Zurich and they were an excellent way to see some of this incredible country and learn about it's history, culture, economy and the lifestyle enjoyed by the residents of the country known as the Heart of Europe.
Zurich and Surroundings
A combination of culture and nature. The main sights of Zurich are shown such as the Bahnhofstrasse, the Guild Houses and the famous Chagall stained glass windows at Fraumunster Church. The journey continues to the outskirts of Zurich and on to Adliswil by cable car for beautiful views of Zurich, the lake and the white peaks of the Alps. You will then cross Lake Zurich by ferry and travel back to the city along the Golden Coast (part of the bike course for Ironman Switzerland).
Lucerne City Tour
A short picturesque ride over the Albis pass and along the shores of the lake of the Four Cantons to Lucerne. You will then have a short city tour that takes in the main sights of the city and 6 hours on your own to discover such things as the Historic Old Town, the Lion Monument, Chapel Bridge, Picasso Museum and many other attractions. Lucerne is a city with incredible history and culture that is a must see for anyone who travels to Switzerland. In addition to the museums, churches and architecture you will also find wonderful shops, restaurants and cafes.
Mount Titlis from Zurich
A short picturesque ride over the Albis pass and along the shores of the lake of the Four Cantons to Lucerne. You will then have a short city tour that takes in the main sights of the city of Lucerne and 1 hour at leisure. Then it is off to Engelberg and an incredible journey to the top of Mount Titlis (3020 M /10,000 Feet) on the incredible revolving cable car Rotair. At the top you can walk through the glacier, have a snowball fight and enjoy spectacular views of dozens of peaks in the Swiss Alps.

Upon leaving Zurich you will take a picturesque ride over the Albis pass and along the shores of the lake of the Four Cantons to Lucerne. You will then have a short city tour that takes in the main sights of the city of Lucerne and 1 hour at leisure. The journey then continues to Kriens to begin your trip to Mount Pilatus (2132m/7000 Feet) using Gondolas and aerial cable cars. You will enjoy unforgettable views of the surrounding mountains and lakes before descending on the world's steepest cogwheel railway (48% gradient) to Alppachstad followed by a relaxing boat ride on Lake Lucerne.
Appenzellerland and Liechtenstein
Travel from Zurich City along the lake and into the Rhine valley to the Capital of the Principality of Liechtenstein for a hour at leisure before heading to Schwagalp where you will be surrounded by Swiss cows and observe the traditional way of Cheese making. You will continue through the beautiful canton of Appenzellerland that is famous for spicy cheese and Swiss traditions. Your last stop will be at a chocolate factory to experience the art of chocolate making and taste several different chocolates.
